At Ceres Primary School we use the Fluid Grouping approach.
Fluid Grouping is flexible grouping that provides individual students with the opportunity to thrive at their point of need.
How does Fluid Grouping look at Ceres Primary?
Once students have been assessed, teachers will group the students for each of our main academic focus areas:These groupings are for Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
This assist the teachers in being able to teach to the point of need for each student, therefore a student working at above the expected level can work at a level where they feel challenged. Whereas a student who requires additional support in a respective academic focus area, can feel supported and challenged at their point of need.
Our staff also support students with Individual Learning Plans, where students can be identified after thier assessment, as needing an individual academic plan. This plan is developed in correspondance with the student and family.
